Spring 2026 Chicks are Here.

65 fluff balls, aka chicks, arrived Thursday morning. We are keeping the chicks under a red light for a few days until they settle in. We use pads until they are past the pasty butt phase. That way they don't accidentally eat any shavings before their little tummies can deal with it. They move quick, making it difficult to get "non-blurry" pictures of them. Day two, and they are doing very well. They are getting acclimated to their little space and figuring out snuggle buddies. We are watching for social dynamics to sort them into little flocks. Including a link to the youtube video. Apologies for the fuzzy pix. They just move too fast in this lighting!
